Though not currently teaching, La Fibi taught extensively in Sonoma County and San Francisco beginning in the the 1990's. Arriving in Petaluma, California with her two sons, La Fibi began teaching dance classes at Footloose Dance Center, under the direction of Carole Savoy in 2002. From her "Flamenco for Children" at the Mission Cultural Center in San Francisco; to Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Level Technique and Choreography Classes, to Company Rehearsals... from San Francisco to Healdsburg, Petaluma to Santa Cruz, Los Angeles to Philadelphia to Austin, she has enjoyed every minute of it! Her goal is an open invitation to share the movement, music, and the culture of FLAMENCO - a beautiful living folk art that originated with the Gypsies (Roma) of Southern Spain, Andalusia.
She has had the great pleasure of working with local Guitarists David Carrol, Mark Berry, Paul Mousavi, Jason Walters, David "El Oso" Jenkins, Mark Taylor, Alan Powell, and Geoffrey Hawkins in the classroom and performance environment. At Footloose, she especially enjoyed the presence of her son, Actor/Cajon player Ruben Vernier during those years. With much practice in the classroom, and student recitals to hone his skills, he eventually reached professional level artistry and performed with her and her many Flamenco Artist friends in the numerous concerts, festivals, wineries, clubs and private events with Flamenco! Live! Wonderful memories...
